Canada's Exciter was one of the start velocity metal bands, bursting out of the gate in 1983 -- the year zero point for clobber -- on board other upstarts like Slayer and Metallica. But uncalled-for to say, their success came nowhere near twin those of their peers, and the band's friction with stardom was a brief one.

Vocalist and drummer Chuck Beehler, guitar player John Ricci, and bassist Allan Johnson formed Hell Razor in Ottawa, Canada, in 1978. After ever-changing their name to Exciter in 1980, the band sent their first demos to Shrapnel Records founder Mike Varney, wHO included the rail "Populace War III" in 1982's US Metal Volume II, so inked them to a one-album deal. Issued in 1983, the band's first attempt Leaden Metal Maniac was among the first thrash metal albums, and brought them to the attending of Jon Zazula's Megaforce Records (the place of Metallica and Anthrax), which sign Exciter to a three-album deal. After recording 1984's Violence & Force with Anthrax producer Carl Canedy, the band embarked upon their start U.S. circuit in support of Mercyful Fate. 1985 adage them flying to England to work with Motörhead producer Guy Bidmead on 1985's Long Live the Loud. The apex of the sun's way of their calling, the album adage a marked advance in both songwriting and wakeless quality and light-emitting diode to broad touring with Accept in Europe and Motörhead and Megadeth in America.

Simply when it seemed care Exciter were starting to constitute their german mark, even so, Ricci left wing the band for a solo career undermentioned the release of the three-song Feel the Knife EP. After finding a substitution in guitar player Brian McPhee, the band returned to England and leased Bidmead in one case over again to record 1986's Unveiling the Wicked. Not as pop as its predecessor, the album also revealed an increasing preoccupation with air, which didn't sit easily with the band's hard-core fans. Following some other bout of touring in Europe with Motörhead and Manowar, the band returned to America only to come across that their popularity was in gustavus Franklin Swift decline. To make matters worse, Exciter was at present without a record book take and Beehler eventually decided that non having a proper frontman was flexible the band's chances of success. So, he relinquished his vocal duties to vocalist Rob Malnati for their severally released fifth album, 1988's just titled Exciter. But the strategy backfired, as the album's nearly complete abandonment of thrash for a slower, mainstream metal advance disoriented what remained of their already dwindling fan base of operations and light-emitting diode to the band's dissolution concisely thenceforth.

Unexpectedly, Exciter returned to activeness in 1992 when original members Ricci and Beehler were linked by young bassist David Ledden for the Kill After Kill album. Another collapse, this was before long followed by a live endeavor entitled Better Live Than Dead (with bassist Jeff McDonald) in 1993, after which the band once once again went their split slipway -- seemingly for in force. But Ricci wasn't quite ready to give up the specter and resurrected Exciter so far once more with a completely new lineup in 1996. Including vocalizer Jacque Belanger, bassist Marc Charron, and drummer Rick Charron (no relation back), this lineup recorded 1997's The Dark Command and 1999's Blood of Tyrants, behind which they continued to tour sporadically.

Bez is bankrupt (again)

Bez can shake his maracas all he wants, but unfortunately they do not make debts disappear. The Happy Mondays' dancer has been declared bankrupt for the second time, it has emergedThe Inland Revenue filed a bankruptcy petition against Mark Berry - Bez's duller, un-Madchester name, on February 7. It was granted on the decidedly unhappy Monday, March 31.It's now up to the Official Receiver to decide how much Bez can pay, and which creditors will benefit.

Bez was first bankrupted in August 2004, following which he signed up for Celebrity Big Brother. Against all odds, he shimmied and schemed his way to the £50,000 grand prize. "Now I can just pay my bills and walk straight with no stress," he said then.More encouraging still, the Happy Mondays reformed and even released an album, Uncle Dysfunktional, last year. And yet clearly things have not been so rosy as all that. Last April, Bez was denied a visa to enter the USA, and later in the year he was found guilty of a driving offence. More worrying still, Bez is described in court papers not just as a musician, but also as a "journalist" - a job that only a desperate man would take up.Speaking to the Manchester Evening News after the Big Brother win, Bez explained that financial strife was "nothing new and it's never been a worry. The day I have to go and get a normal job, I'll give up."Alas the time may have come for Bez to pack it in and take the gig at Tesco.

Big Brother - Big Brother 9 Housemates Fail Crisp-licking Task

The housemates in the ninth series of Big Brother have missed out on being awarded a gift token after failing a new task.

The group's failure to correctly sort some 6,250 grams of crisps represented the second task failure of this year's show - after the secret couple task of week one - while housemate Dennis McHugh later called a group meeting regarding personality clashes in the house.

Having gathered on the sofa on Monday morning, the housemates awaited instructions while Sylvia Barrie discovered the details of the new task.

Upon her return, she revealed that the housemates were required to sort 6,250 grams of potato crisps into four different flavours, with Big Brother placing a giant bowl of salt and vinegar, cheese and onion, Worcester sauce and ready salted crisps in the garden.

The group were required to lick each and every individual crisp and then allocate it to the appropriately labelled crisp bag and had two hours in which to sort all 6,250 grams.

A token was on offer if housemates sorted the crisps, but eating the crisps was strictly forbidden and any housemate caught breaking the rule was warned of severe consequences.

The group set up a production line, with blind housemate Mikey Hughes criticised for blowing his nose and dropping the tissue into a crisp barrel.

But despite spending more than three hours licking the crisps, Big Brother revealed that with an error margin of 11 per cent, the housemates had lost the task.

While the group laughed, student Luke Marsden exclaimed: "That means we licked all those crisps for jack all."

Later that evening Dennis announced a group meeting to deal with "how issues and situations are being vented in the house".

Alexandra De-Gale, about whom Channel 4 received hundreds of complaints over her bullying, admitted that should she have an issue with people, she "likes to take it up then and there and to the person's face".

Sylvia later confided in Big Brother in the diary room about Alexandra's behaviour, saying: "I can't believe I've been associated with her."
